As our foundation, we will take steps that address preservation of the global environment in our corporate activities by harnessing the creativity of all our employees.  2. Environmental Policy Metek Kitamura lists the following main initiatives for promoting our contribution to the community and for preserving the environment through our metal surface processing business.       2-1.   At Metek Kitamura, we shall continually reduce the impact of our business activities - primarily our surface treatment processes - and shall strive to control pollution and reduce our environmental burden.     2-2.   In order to comply with environmental laws and regulations and other requirements that our company must observe, Metek Kitamura shall establish voluntary standards and strive to implement environmental conservation initiatives.     2-3.   Regarding our environmental management system, we shall implement internal environmental audits and promote continual improvement by establishing voluntary management initiatives.     2-4.   With the development of our business activities, Metek Kitamura shall implement the following items as environmental goals and targets for all employees in order to minimize our environmental impact especially for items with the potential to impact the environment, and every employee shall participate and become engaged in the effort. 1. We shall reduce the amount of chemicals stored and manage them appropriately. 2. We shall switch from chemical substances to substitute substances. 3. We shall conserve resources and reduce waste emissions.
